NJTV Explores The Garden State’s Agriculture Industry In Its New In Your Neighborhood: Vineland Special Airing on September 19

UPDATED September 17, 2018 – NEWARK, NJ – NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network, will explore the Garden State’s green economy and more with a new In Your Neighborhood: Vineland Special airing on Wednesday, September 19.  NJTV has been showcasing some of the Garden State’s most dynamic places with its In Your Neighborhood initiative by combining news, special programming and community engagement events. For Vineland, along with local stories, the network will take an in-depth look into New Jersey’s agriculture, food and beverage industries in an hour-long special to air on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30pm and 8pm on NJTV (check local listings). The special will also be available to watch online.
“The Vineland area is a perfect location to showcase what makes New Jersey the Garden State,” said NJTV General Manager John Servidio. “The state’s vital agriculture and food-processing industry has been a foundation of our local economy for generations.”
Filmed at an area farm stand, the In Your Neighborhood: Vineland Special will feature interviews with Vineland Mayor Anthony Fanucci, local farmers, vineyard and supermarket operators and fishing boat captains to help demonstrate how food gets from farm, or sea, to table.  Segments will include a farm-to-table cooking demonstration, a ride aboard a local fishing boat and a tour of an area winery.
In Your Neighborhood stops also incorporate follow-up engagement events that touch on issues affecting the local community.  This fall, NJTV will host residents, thought leaders and stakeholders to discuss how the opioid addiction crisis is affecting the Vineland area.
“The response to this initiative from the communities we have visited to date has been tremendous,” said Servidio. “Residents are always asking us when we’ll be back.”
Support for NJTV‘s In Your Neighborhood: Vineland initiative is provided in part by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the PSEG Foundation. The views expressed in the programming do not necessarily reflect the views of the sponsors.
