David Cruz, NJTV News Correspondent

Cruz’s recent coverage for NJTV News on the latest controversies surrounding Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer this week included secret audio recordings involving Mayor Zimmer’s husband, obtained exclusively by NJTV News. In the wake of a claim by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer that a quid-pro-quo deal was holding up Hurricane Sandy funding to her city, Cruz obtained an audio tape of a discussion involving Zimmer’s husband that suggests he might be involved with back-door dealings himself. If you missed it, watch the story that broke Tuesday here: https://www.njtvonline.org/news/video/hoboken-housing-authority-director-claims-zimmers-husband-bullied-him/ On Wednesday, Cruz reported on new allegations the Hoboken Mayor played politics with Sandy reconstruction funds: https://www.njtvonline.org/news/video/exclusive-housing-authority-exec-alleges-zimmer-holding-sandy-recovery-funds-hostage/

Cruz also discussed the growing controversies earlier this month on Al Jazeera America. Read more about David Cruz here. Follow him on Twitter at @CruzNJTV.
