NJTV serves as exclusive broadcast pool for conference; Special Sunday edition of NJ Today with Mike Schneider to follow; Program live on both television and internet and to be repeated

October 28, 2012 – Committed to serving Garden State residents during what is predicted to be an exceptional storm in Hurricane Sandy, NJTV is broadcasting  a special live edition of NJ Today with Mike Schneider tonight at 6pm ET which will begin with live coverage of Governor Chris Christie’s press conference from Trenton.  The press conference, which will offer the latest assessment of the state’s handling of Hurricane Sandy, will be  followed by in-studio speech analysis with Schneider and a recap of the storm’s status.  Sunday’s edition of NJ Today is exceptional as the news program typically only airs weeknights on NJTV.  Also unique, residents will be able to watch the entire program, including the press conference, on NJTVonline.org.

“A storm situation like this, which is expected to severely affect every part of our state, warrants above-and-beyond coverage from NJTV,” said General Manager John Servidio.  “Our dedicated news team is committed to seeing this storm through with the rest of our neighbors, providing updates and special coverage on our air and the internet.”

NJTV will repeat the press conference/NJ Today program immediately after the live edition airs.  Regularly-scheduled programming will follow the repeat, with additional storm updates.

Throughout the coming days, NJTV is offering live and bulletin-style updates on-air and online at njtvonline.org, and additional live news programming.  Check out NJTV’s Facebook page for more breaking storm-related information photos from across the Garden State, and #NJTVonline Twitter updates from field correspondents.

The state has designated NJTV as the exclusive press pool provider of the Governor’s remarks.
