Coverage kicks off NJTV’s NJ Decides: 2012 election season programming
August 23, 2012 – MONTCLAIR, N.J. – NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network, announced its local coverage plans for the upcoming national political conventions and Governor Chris Christie’s keynote address.
NJTV’s weeknight news program, NJ Today, anchored by Managing Editor Mike Schneider, will feature special reports throughout the duration of both the Republican National Convention, August 27-30th in Tampa, FL, and the Democratic National Convention September 4-6th in Charlotte, NC. Chief Political Correspondent Michael Aron and Correspondent David Cruz will be on-site at each convention venue, reporting from behind-the-scenes as they cover the New Jersey Delegation. Back at home in NJ Today‘s Montclair studio, Schneider will break down the day’s events and oversee expert analysis during the news program’s regularly-scheduled evening broadcast. Each night of both conventions, viewers can expect reports from the field and interviews with the most influential figures in New Jersey state politics.
On Tuesday, August 28th, NJTV will broadcast a live edition of NJ Today at 6pm, offering viewers reports from Tampa and other state news of the day. Later that evening, at 10pm, the network will air NJ Decides 2012: The Christie Keynote, a live, HD special featuring Governor Chris Christie’s entire convention Keynote address, supplemented by local insight and analysis (check local listings). NJTV will also stream the Governor’s speech at https://www.njtvonline.org/njtoday/2012/08/24/njdecides-2012-the-christie-keynote/. For those who miss it live, the network will encore the speech special several times (check local listings and NJTV’s website for times).
