Cory Booker, Virginia Long … on NJ Today

March 22, 2012 – Montclair, NJ – NJ Today Managing Editor Mike Schneider sits down with Newark Mayor Cory Booker…discussing the recent Muslim surveillance controversy, which he said has caused a “chill and injury to my community”, and the challenges of fighting crime in his city, for which he said he accepts “full responsibility.” Part one of two airs tonight.
Also in the broadcast…in the wake of today’s NJ Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings, former NJ Supreme Court Justice, Virginia Long, shares her views on boundaries of questioning of Court nominees and the mandatory retirement age that closed her career as a Justice. She tells Schneider, “I would have died with my proverbial judge boots on.  Unfortunately, that was not to be.”
NJ Today airs week-nightly at 6, 7:30 and 11pm ET on NJTV.
PLEASE NOTE: tonight’s NJ Today 6pm broadcast was pre-empted by NJTV’s coverage of the NJ Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings. Pending the conclusion of tonight’s hearings, the show will air at 7:30pm and 11pm.
