Unprecedented job losses in April

ADP’s April jobs report shows that in a single month, the U.S. economy lost 20.2 million jobs. That’s more than double the amount of jobs lost in the Great Recession.

Advocacy groups want the state to create an emergency relief fund for undocumented immigrants living in the state. Those immigrants don’t qualify for unemployment benefits and won’t get a stimulus check from the federal government.

The union representing more than 10,000 Atlantic City casino workers has outlined what it wants to see before its members go back to work. Unite Here Local 54 wants masks and gloves for the workers, as well as tough new cleaning and social distancing policies.
