Trauma’s Tragedy and Treatment: So much to unpack

BY Michael Hill, Correspondent |

Trauma’s Tragedy and Treatment is a five-part series that explores how childhood trauma can impact a person for decades to come. The series delves into how Newark is trying to become a trauma-informed city by 2020.

The first installment introduces 26-year-old Ashanti Jones, coordinator for the Neighborhood Ally program at South Ward Children’s Alliance. Jones’s distressing childhood experiences culminated into her teenage years, when she reached a critical turning point in her life.
