The state of New Jersey’s Republican Party

BY David Cruz, Senior Correspondent |

The Republican Party has been a minority in the New Jersey Legislature since 2001, so what’s the state of the Republican Party in a blue state like New Jersey? What impact has Donald Trump’s presidency had on the Garden State?

Senior Correspondent David Cruz sat down with Doug Steinhardt, who was recently unanimously reelected as chairman of the New Jersey Republican Party, to talk about what plans he has for the future of the party in the Garden State.

Steinhardt discusses the party’s efforts to “rebuild, rebrand and reengage,” and whether moderate Republicans still exist in New Jersey. He also weighs in on the currently fractured Democratic Party and how his own party is a “conservative check and balance” in Trenton.
