Storm over Rutgers football coach spills into political arena

It seemed like a Hail Mary for the Rutgers football program. After nearly a decade of scandal, reports emerged that the university would re-hire former Coach Greg Schiano who left in 2011 after taking the Scarlet Knights to six bowl games and national prominence.

But in a dramatic series of on-again, off-again negotiations the deal fell apart Sunday, leaving fans and alumni frustrated. Now it’s now become something of a political football. Chief Political Correspondent Michael Aron has the latest.
