Record number of Americans file for jobless benefits

The number of people newly out of work is even worse than economists feared. 6.6 million Americans filed for new unemployment benefits last week. In the past two weeks, 10 million Americans have lost their jobs.

In New Jersey, more than 206,000 residents have filed for unemployment benefits in the past week, swamping the state’s unemployment benefits website.

Newark is accepting applications for small business grants. Certain businesses can receive up to $10,000 in grant money.

And, as virtual meetings are the norm these days, Zoom has become the target of what’s being called Zoombombing, where intruders break into meetings.
