Pharma companies reportedly under criminal opioid investigation

At least six companies have reportedly received federal subpoenas as part of a criminal investigation centered on the opioid crisis. According to the Wall Street Journal, the companies include two based in New Jersey – Johnson & Johnson and Amneal Pharmaceutical.

Proposals to reform New Jersey’s corporate tax incentive programs still put too much emphasize on awards for big projects, rather than favoring smaller companies, according to a report by New Jersey Policy Perspective.

The latest retail chain to close shop is one that got its start in New Jersey. Arts and crafts chain A.C. Moore will close 140 stores across the country, including 18 in New Jersey.

Bankrupt retail company Toys R Us is making a limited comeback. It’s opening two stores for the holiday season, including one at the Garden State Plaza mall.
