Officials ‘Sound Off’ About Economic Development in South Jersey

Members of the Southern New Jersey Development Council met to discuss economic development Friday for the 30th annual Sound Off South Jersey conference. Elected officials and members of the business community gathered to discuss how South Jersey can improve its economic climate. Attendees focused on two issues — South Jersey’s infrastructure and the revitalization of Atlantic City.

Officials talked about the possibility of a light rail that would connect Camden to Glassboro and revitalizing Atlantic City’s airport. Attendees said Atlantic City needs to focus on more than gambling to make the city a destination for entertainment like shows and restaurants in addition to slot machines, which have cropped up at other locations.
