Obama’s in Newark boosting a re-entry program that helps ex-cons find homes and jobs. Democratic senators support the criminal justice reforms. Republican Governor Christie, from Camden, says they were his idea.

The governor taunts the President on social media saying that Mr. Obama and the federal government get none of the credit for decreasing crime in Camden, and “implies” that the president shares some of the blame for souring police and community relations.

And ahead of tomorrow’s election we preview a Monmouth county contest that pits incumbent Christie Republicans against tax reforming democrats. It’s a microcosm of state politics that presents the best chance for a big upset.
