Gov. Chris Christie called a press conference for 1 p.m. on jobs and the economy. After his statement, which touted New Jersey job growth since he came into office, he answered questions from the media. It’s the second time Christie has taken media questions since ending his bid for president. The first time, he only answered questions on topic when he announced his nominee for the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Christie was the topic of ridicule on social media after introducing Donald Trump Super Tuesday, with #FreeChrisChristie trending on Twitter. Many said he looked like he didn’t want to be at the event.
More than a dozen New Jersey newspapers and some lawmakers in both parties have called for Christie to resign.
