NJ Republicans celebrate election night wins in battleground legislative districts

Chief Political Correspondent Michael Aron joined Mary Alice Williams on-set to give his thoughts on the results of Tuesday night’s New Jersey election.

Aron says the Assembly Republicans had a successful night, one of their best in quite some time, defending three districts where they were under siege.

“We’re having a great night,” said Doug Steinhardt. “Proud of the work we’ve done as a state already, proud of our candidates. I think we laid a great foundation heading into 2020.”

Republicans are calling the election a referendum on Gov. Murphy, who in turn spun the results as an indication that his progressive policies were resonating with voters.
