Newly-introduced legislation seeks to reallocate federal cancer funds

Of the $5.74 billion allocated to the National Cancer Institute in fiscal year 2019 only 4% goes to pediatric cancer research.

In October, Rep. Josh Gottheimer introduced new bipartisan legislation designed to adjust how the National Cancer Institute spends federal dollars. It’s called the Fairness to Kids with Cancer Act.
