Murder convictions overturned, two men still await freedom in prison

An appeals court has overturned murder convictions for Kevin Baker and Sean Washington after the Last Resort Exoneration Project at Seton Hall Law School found new evidence and re-evaluated existing evidence.

Now, as Baker and Washington sit in prison awaiting release, the case is in the hands of the attorney general’s first-in-the-nation at the state level Conviction Review Team.
