Make-A-Wish Foundation Opens Castle for Sick Kids

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey opened a large castle in Middlesex County where children diagnosed with serious medical conditions can go to have their wishes granted.

The 20,000-square-foot castle on 14 acres in Monroe Township is the only one of its kind in the world. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey asked a number of children what type of building they would like and the overwhelming majority voted for a castle. The organization grants 400 to 500 wishes for children each year and representatives hope the new castle will help them grant even more. Fifty children and hundreds of supporters went to the grand opening of the castle. The $7 million price tag was paid entirely through private donations. NJToday’s Lauren Wanko files this report.
