How do you know a story’s got legs? Local news breaks it, national news runs with it, international news reports it. And then “The Boss” gets involved.

“Governor, let me in. I want to be your friend, there’ll be no partisan divisions,” he said.

Last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, host Fallon teamed up with guest Bruce Springsteen to take a jab at New Jersey politics the best way they know how.

“The press conference went on and on. It was longer than one of my own damn shows,” sang Springsteen.

Setting out to do what art does so well — as another pretty great poet said, “to hold, as ’twere, the mirror up to nature.”

“Someday Governor, I don’t when, this will all end, but until then, you’re killing the working man who’s stuck in the Gov. Christie Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam,” sang Springsteen.

We may not know when “this all will end,” but one thing is certain, the entertainment world won’t miss a beat.
