Essex officials say ICE has released 82 detainees

A new WNYC report shows 20% of the ICE detainees in Hudson, Bergen, and Essex Counties have been released over the last month due to risks of contracting the coronavirus. In Essex County, where an inmate died from COVID-19, officials will begin testing every inmate and detainee to slow the spread.
