Delicious Orchards’ apple treats mark the start of the fall season

With the fall season comes an influx of customers to Delicious Orchards, a family-run business that has been a fixture in Colts Neck since 1911. Last year, the country food market sold 1.2 million apple cider donuts — and that’s just one of the many popular fall treats that people come to enjoy.

Chris McDonald, the co-owner and vice president of Delicious Orchards, says nothing beats the upcoming season.

“We just love the fall, we live for it. It is just something about the seasons and everybody coming here we enjoy,” he said.

There is a 10-acre orchard on the property and it’s those apples that are used for their cider. The family also works with local farmers from New Jersey and New York to meet the demand for all things apple. Apple fritters, fresh from the fritter truck, are another popular item on the menu.

Whether it’s cider, donuts or apples, it all means one thing to customers at Delicious Orchards: Fall has arrived.
