CDC identifies likely cause of vaping-related lung illness

For the first time, a possible culprit has been identified in the more than 2,000 vaping-related illnesses and 39 deaths, including one in New Jersey. In lung samples taken from 29 affected patients, researchers CDC found vitamin E acetate, an additive used as a thickening agent in some THC vape liquids.

Dr. Lewis Nelson, chair of emergency medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, joined Mary Alice Williams to discuss the significance of these new findings.
