Battle of Teacher Reform Proposals at NJEA Convention

The Christie administration and the NJEA, the state’s largest teachers union, have butted heads throughout his term. At the annual NJEA convention held in Atlantic City, NJEA members had a chance to ask questions to the state’s education chief, Christopher Cerf. His defense of the administration’s teacher reform proposals sparked strong reaction from the attendees. The NJEA laid out its own set of reform proposals which include changes to teacher tenure rules.
