Animal Rights Group Opposes Bear Hunt

Animal rights groups are challenging next week’s scheduled black bear hunt in New Jersey in the court system, claiming the hunt kills too many female bears and the justification is based on flawed research.

Vice President of Legal Affairs for the Bear Education and Resource Group Doris Lin said the group has filed an appeal to stop the Dec. 5-10 bear hunt. She said while the group was unsuccessful last year in stopping the hunt, she is confident the outcome will be different this year.
