Storm Blankets New Jersey with Snow

Snow began falling Tuesday morning throughout the Garden State. Most areas are expected to get two to four inches of snow by this afternoon.

Because of the storm, speed restrictions of 45 miles per hour were issued on New Jersey Turnpike in both directions from the George Washington Bridge to the Delaware Memorial bridge. The Garden State Parkway had a speed restriction of 45 miles per hour from Hazlet to Cape May and 35 miles per hour from Hazlet to the New York state line.

NJ Transit announced it would cross honor bus and rail tickets throughout the day system wide.

Federal courthouses in Newark, Camden and Trenton are closed.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. A winter storm warning has been issued for southwest New Jersey towns along the Interstate 95 corridor.
