Sen. Bucco diagnosed with throat cancer

State Sen. Anthony Bucco has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

A spokesman for the family says it’s a treatable and curable form called squamous carcinoma.

Bucco will undergo seven weeks of radiation and chemotherapy at Morristown Medical Center, and according to his doctors the long-term prognosis is good.

His spokesperson says he’ll approach the treatment with tenacity and faith. Bucco plans to return to Trenton this spring after the regiment.
