An associate minister in Paterson has created a platform to empower and celebrate entrepreneurial women of color.
Rev. Aisha Taylor Issah is founder and CEO of the Sistahs in Business Expo, or SIB Expo. The purpose of the event, which will be hosted this spring, is to give women of color a place to showcase their products or services, grow their audiences, and learn how to build successful and sustainable businesses.
“The SIB Expo will provide them with that opportunity by putting them right in front of their consumers,” says Issah.
New York City native, Rapper MC Lyte, born Lana Michelle Moorer, and Dr. Lynn Richardson, an author, entertainment executive and celebrity financial coach, have been tapped to serve as keynote speakers. Issah says they both exemplify the mission of the expo as entrepreneurial women of color who have blazed the trail for so many others, and she’s confident they will bring great energy and expertise to women of color in New Jersey.
“I’m looking forward to the transformation and celebration of all entrepreneurial women of color as we explore the depths of what we want and deserve for our lives…,” said MC Lyte.
“The implementation of the tools and knowledge that will be provided at this expo will be vital for all women of color to live our best lives. I’m excited about all that is in store for our partnership as we look beneath the layers, work through our goals, and prepare to win…We hope to continue to undeniably influence and impact the lives of millions in making smarter money decisions,” said Dr. Lynn Richardson.
The SIB Expo will be hosted Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Ramada Plaza in Newark from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available here.
