Should businessman Donald Trump be elected president this fall, Gov. Chris Christie would lead the presumptive Republican nominee’s White House transition team.
The Trump campaign announced Monday that Christie, who was one of the first major Republicans to endorse Trump after his own presidential run flatlined earlier this year, would serve as chairman of his transition team and be tasked with overseeing and managing the group in preparation for a possible Trump administration.
“Gov. Christie is an extremely knowledgeable and loyal person with the tools and resources to put together an unparalleled transition team, one that will be prepared to take over the White House when we win in November,” Trump said. “I am grateful to Gov. Christie for his contributions to this movement.”
