Photo Contest Celebrates Morris County History

Morris County Historical Society is pleased to announce “Historic Morris County,” a juried photo contest, to celebrate the rich and diverse history of Morris County. The contest will be open for submission from Oct. 1 to April 16, 2021. Check MCHS website, MorrisCountyHistory.org, on Oct. 1 for submission form and more information. Bruce White, former staff photographer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Sotheby’s, will be a special guest judge. White’s most recent work, At Home in the President’s Neighborhood, (2016) was in collaboration with the White House Historical Association. He also was principal photographer for their books, The White House: Its Historic Furnishings and First Families and the 50th-anniversary edition of the White House: An Historic Guide and Tudor Place: An American Treasure. An award reception in the Museum Gallery at Morristown National Historical Park will open the exhibit and entries will be on display starting May 2021; date and time to be determined; https://morriscountyhistory.org/programs-events/photo-contest/. Morris County Historical Society is located at 68 Lafayette Ave., Morristown, and is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m. Admission, which includes the exhibits and grounds, is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for students, and is free for children younger than 12 and MCHS members.
