MORRISTOWN, N.J. – If you’re looking for a unique Christmas gift that highlights local history, look no further. As part of a one-day, worldwide event to celebrate museum stores on Sunday, Nov. 29, the Gallery Gift Shop at Acorn Hall will be open and stocked with gifts. The Gallery Gift Shop offers unique high-quality items related to the history and people of Morris County. Receive a free Christmas ornament with your purchase as a token of our appreciation. Among the gift shop offerings are framed and unframed reproductions of Morris County’s earliest maps and atlas prints, and Lucille Hobbie pencil sketches including more than 20 local historic landmarks including Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Macculloch Hall, and Washington Headquarters. New Jersey and Morris County-themed books and stationery, as well as gift baskets for adults and children, make for a perfect one-stop shopping experience. MCHS memberships make a perfect stocking stuffer for the history enthusiast on your list. Admission to visit the gift shop, which is open 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., is free. Masks are required. MCHS is located at 68 Lafayette Ave., Morristown, and is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m. Admission, which includes the exhibits and landscaped grounds, is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for students, and is free for children under 12 and MCHS members.
