Class Schedule NJTV Learning Live

Classes in all major school subjects, taught by some of New Jersey’s finest public school teachers, make up NJTV Learning Live, the new series that airs Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for grades three to six. The host is Kimberly Dickstein Hughes, recipient of the 2019-2020 State Teacher of the Year Award. The series is a partnership with NJTV, the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) and the New Jersey Department of Education. Learn about this remote learning initiative, which is a response to the COVID-19 restrictions.

Grades 3-6 Home Learning Schedule

NJTV’s educational TV lineup for third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders airs Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. See or download the weekly NJTV Learning Live schedule from WNET Education, which has links to related PBS LearningMedia materials.

9 a.m.-10 a.m.

Third Grade: students tackle brain scientists, a Spanish lesson, life cycles, plant life, and one point perspective landscapes.

10 a.m.-11 a.m.

Fourth Grade: students learn about verbs, U.S. Presidents, how to write a memoir, watersheds in Bayshore, and Mandarin phrases for eating a meal.

11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Fifth Grade: students discover polygons; informative paragraphs; line plots, whole numbers and fractions; adding fractions with unline denominators; and rhyme/ensemble skills.

12 noon-1 p.m.

Sixth Grade: students explore The Roman Empire, problem solving, motion and forces, poetry, and character development.
