The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, established in 1921, has grown to be an enormous operation with a 30 billion dollar Capital Budget. The Port Authority runs four bridges, two tunnels, five airports, a rail system, a bus terminal and Port Newark. In this edition of Governors’ Perspectives, Kent Manahan talks to former Governors Tom Kean and Jim Florio about the power, the politics and the need to reform the sprawling bi-state agency.
