NJTV SERIES RECEIVE 23 MID-ATLANTIC EMMY® NOMINATIONS

Number of nominations is new benchmark for the five year-old network

August 11, 2016 – NEWARK NJ – NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network, announced its programming has been nominated for 23 Mid-Atlantic Emmy® awards.  It is the largest number of local Emmy® nominations in the network’s five-year history.  The awards recognize outstanding achievements in television and media.

“The growing number of nominations for NJTV programming is another indication of the growth of the network over the last five years,” said NJTV General Manager John Servidio.  “We strive to provide an ever-growing variety of high-quality, Jersey-centric local news and programs, and it’s gratifying to be recognized.”

NJTV’s weeknight newscast, NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams, garnered 7 nominations, including one in the category of “News Excellence.”  On the Record with Michael Aron received a  nomination in the category of Interview/Discussion Program Special — its first nomination since becoming an NJTV production — and the network’s American Songbook at NJPAC series garnered two nominations.

Multiple nominations were also allotted to several long-running New Jersey public television series, with seven nominations granted to State of the Arts and three each for Classroom Close-Up, NJ and Due Process.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on September 24, 2016.
