January 28, 2015 — TRENTON, NJ — NJTV’s Chief Political Correspondent Michael Aron made the 2015 list of top local political reporters in New Jersey, as cited in The Washington Post’s “The Fix” blog today.
“The Fix” honors the state and local politics reporters every few years with a “best of the best” list, as they “rarely get the attention of their colleagues a the national level, but are often covering the very politicians and national trends that come to impact the broad political landscape.”
The list below is based on recommendations from the Fix community, the blog itself and social media.
Aron, nicknamed as “Dean of the Trenton Statehouse News Corps” by his peers, has interviewed every New Jersey governor, state Supreme Court chief justice and legislative leader during his decades-long tenure as a journalist, plus a number of presidential candidates. He has covered national political conventions, trade missions abroad and all the major political issues of the state.
Aron has also hosted two popular weekly public affairs programs that feature discussion with news breakers and makers, Reporters Roundtable with Michael Aron and On The Record with Michael Aron for decades. Stay tuned as the next generation of Michael Aron’s programs debut on NJTV this spring.
In the meantime, catch him and the NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams news team weeknights at 6pm, 7:30pm and 11pm.
