Each year, Americans fill over 4 billion prescriptions, resulting in millions of pounds of pharmaceutical waste.  Some of this waste ends up in our lakes, rivers, and reservoirs. Unused medications have also caused thousands of children to end up in emergency rooms due to unintentional overdoses. While drop boxes, educational programs and new technologies have helped, the experts say the real “fix” must come from us.

“Coastal Impressions: Painters of the Jersey Shore, 1880-1940” brought together rarely seen artists in an exhibition at Morven Museum & Garden.  State of the Arts visits the carvers in Cape May County to get a firsthand look at a traditional art form that is truly native to South Jersey.  And, the renowned Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, based in New Jersey for over 30 years.
