In-studio debate will be broadcast on-air and online
June 26, 2013 – Montclair, NJ – NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network, announced that it will broadcast a Democratic Primary debate with U.S. Senate candidates on Monday, August 5th at 7:30pm from Montclair State University.
The NJTV special, entitled NJDecides 2013: U.S. Senate Democratic Primary Debate, will be moderated by Mike Schneider, managing editor of NJTV’s weeknight news program, NJ Today with Mike Schneider, and feature four candidates running for the seat formerly held by U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg. Lautenberg passed away earlier this month.Candidates slated to appear (subject to change):
-Newark Mayor Cory Booker
-Rep. Rush Holt (12th Congressional District)
-State Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver
-Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (6th Congressional District)
The 90-minute debate, to be held at the NJ Today with Mike Schneider studio on the campus of Montclair State University in Essex County, will be conducted one-on-one interview style by Schneider with contribution from Alfred Doblin, Editorial Page Editor of The Record.
The debate will also be livestreamed on njtvonline.org.
