Veteran NJN Anchor revives gubernatorial discussion series with former Governors Byrne and Kean this weekend
November 29, 2012 — BORDENTOWN, NJ– NJTV’s popular public affairs program, On The Record with Michael Aron, is known for its timely discussion with news makers. Starting this weekend, the show welcomes one of the pioneers of political discussion, Kent Manahan, who anchored NJN news for three decades. Manahan revives her popular news conversations with past New Jersey governors, assessing the state of the state through their eyes, in periodic special segments titled Governors’ Perspectives with Kent Manahan, as part of upcoming On The Record programs.
The first segment of Governors’ Perspectives with Kent Manahan premieres this weekend, as Manahan interviews former Garden State Governors Brendan Byrne and Tom Kean. Their discussion includes assessment of Governor Chris Christie, and strategies for coping with the fiscal cliff.
“Kent Manahan originated the concept of topical discussions with former governors on television,” said On the Record host and NJTV’s Chief Political Correspondent Michael Aron. “These state leaders have unique perspectives to share with our viewers. We’re delighted to have these segments incorporated into our show.”
According to Aron, the Governors’ Perspectives segments are expected to appear on On The Record about once a month. On The Record with Michael Aron airs Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 10am on NJTV (check local listings).
