NJTV To Broadcast 9th Congressional District Democratic Primary Debate, Cosponsored By The Record and Herald News, on May 14 at Montclair State University

North Jersey – The Record and Herald News, publications of North Jersey Media Group, are cosponsoring what promises to be a lively debate between U.S. Rep. Steven R. Rothman and U.S. Rep. William J. Pascrell Jr. on May 14 at 8 p.m. at Montclair State University in Montclair.    

The heated 9th District Democratic primary battle is a result of redistricting in New Jersey where one of 13 seats in the House of Representatives is being eliminated. Primary elections will be held on June 5 in New Jersey.    

NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network, will televise the hour-long debate live beginning at 8 p.m. on Cablevision Channel 8/Comcast Channel 23. Check other local listings on NJTV’s website: http://www.njtvonline.org/about/where-to-watch/.   

Mike Schneider, Managing Editor and Anchor of NJTV’s news program NJ Today, will moderate the debate. Panelists will include Brigid Callahan Harrison, Professor of Political Science and Law at Montclair State University and frequent political commentator; Alfred P. Doblin, Editorial Page Editor of The Record and Herald News, Charles Stile, columnist for The Record and Michael Aron, Chief Political Correspondent for NJTV.   

Montclair State University is the event’s venue sponsor. The debate will be held on the campus of Montclair State University at the John J. Cali School of Music, Leshowitz Recital Hall, 1 Normal Ave., Montclair. Public seating for this event has been filled.
