One of the chillest and most creative fund-raisers ever is sweeping social media. It’s called the Ice Bucket Challenge, in which sports figures like pro golfer Greg Norman, television personalities like Matt Lauer, and Doyennes of all things decorous like Martha Stewart– and plain old people dump a bucket of ice over their heads and post it on the web to raise funds to combat Lou Gherigs disease. Then they challenge someone else to either do the same or donate directly to the ALS Foundation. The foundation reports Contributions have surged since the national soak-in started.
NJTV News Anchor Mary Alice Williams accepted the challenge and then challenged state political leaders– U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker and Governor Chris Christie.
