Following Cory Booker’s win in the race for U.S. Senate, Executive Director of Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind Poll Krista Jenkins sat down with NJ Today Managing Editor Mike Schneider to speak about the results.
There was only a 25 percent voter turnout in this election, which was lower than expected, Jenkins said. She said that there was low interest which resulted in a low turnout. She was not surprised by the numbers.
Data says that Gov. Chris Christie’s endorsement did not have a large effect on Steve Lonegan’s campaign.
“A Democrat wins in New Jersey, not a big surprise,” said Jenkins.
