New subpoenas have been issued in the George Washington Bridge lane closure investigation. Assemblyman John Wisniewski told NJTV News Managing Editor Mike Schneider that the new subpoenas are a result of unanswered questions.
“We’ve assembled documents from over 28 individuals and there are questions that remained unanswered,” said Wisniewski. “As helpful as those documents are, there still are unanswered questions.”
Wisniewski said that the four new issued subpoenas offer a step toward getting those answers.
The subpoenas include Gov. Chris Christie’s Communications Director Michael Drewniak, Port Authority Executive Director Patrick Foye, governor’s officer staffer Christina Renna and Port Authority board member William Schuber. Wisniewski said that those subpoenaed are names that have been significant around the investigation.
Some have started referring to the bridge lane closure investigation as Wizgate. Wisniewski said that started with Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick, who he said is a better minority leader than he is a comedian.
