Senate President Steve Sweeney boycotted the delegate breakfast over sponsor PSE&G's contributions to a political action committee that supports candidates including New Jersey conservative Scott Garrett.
Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop sponsored a breakfast for New Jersey delegates at the DNC and Assemblyman John Wisniewski held a lunch at the same hotel. Both have been in the conversation as potential candidates for governor in 2017.
Those who supported Bernie Sanders as the Democratic nominee for president are in Philadelphia rallying for him and railing against the Democratic Party, which they say has been against him from the beginning.
Phil Murphy is the only official candidate running for governor in 2017, but several prominent Democrats, including Steve Sweeney, John Wisniewski, Joe DiVincenzo, Steve Fulop and Ray Lesniak, may also be in the mix.
