Standalone homes that are 200 to 300 square feet are on the rise. Some in New Jersey, including Sen. Ray Lesniak, think the move could help fight homelessness and increase the amount of available affordable housing.
The Jersey Shore Rescue Mission in Asbury Park provides dinner each night and a warm place for homeless men to sleep. With the extreme cold, the shelter has extended its hours to help the homeless escape the elements.
