Mike Schneider, Anchor and Managing Editor of New Jersey public television’s NJTV News program, is an acclaimed journalist who has spent more than three decades reporting for national network and local Tri-State outlets. His career launched in 1975 as a news writer at WPVI in Philadelphia and went on to expand his role to reporter and anchor at network affiliates throughout New York and Pennsylvania, including WTAE in Pittsburgh and WCBS in New York. Since then, Schneider has anchored and written for the gamut of national network and cable news entities. On ABC, he was news anchor for Good Morning America and reported for Nightline and 20/20. On NBC, he hosted Weekend Today, reported for Dateline NBC and sub-anchored Meet the Press and NBC Nightly News. He served as National Political Reporter for Fox News, and anchored and wrote for The Schneider Report. At Bloomberg Television, he anchored a series of award-winning documentaries along with creating and hosting Night Talk, an internationally broadcast interview program. Most recently he hosted CNBC Titans. Schneider has been awarded nearly every major news and broadcast honor, including three Emmy awards and earned accolades from the Associated Press, the Foreign Press Association and the New York and New Jersey Press Clubs, among others.
Schneider received a B.A. from Thomas Edison State College Trenton and until recently, was a longtime resident of Alpine, where he raised his children. Today, with his wife’s medical practice grounded in Bergen County and other family members residing in the Garden State, Schneider continues to be personally vested in the state and its topical issues.
