Several people hurt in 2-vehicle crash on Parkway

12-14-13

PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) — Several people were injured when a car struck a sport utility vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in northern New Jersey, causing the SUV to overturn.

State police say 23-year-old Heather Torres of Saddle Brook was driving southbound in the right lane when she lost control of her car around 9:15 p.m. Friday on a stretch of the highway in Paramus.

Her car collided with the SUV, which was in the center lane, and both vehicles struck a concrete median. The SUV overturned and landed on its roof.

Two women in the SUV remained hospitalized Saturday in critical condition, while some others were being treated for undisclosed injuries. It was not clear if Torres was hurt in the crash.

No charges have been filed, but the rash remains under investigation.
