SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) — Secaucus residents didn’t like what they were hearing from the Electric Daisy festival during the Memorial Day weekend.
Town officials and the police department fielded over 100 complaints about noise and they issued tickets for 31 complaints. The summonses included MetLife Stadium, the event promoter and The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
The Record (http://bit.ly/1tUY1uQ ) newspaper reports Mayor Michael Gonnelli wrote the president of MetLife Stadium that sound levels were recorded at 90 decibels at times, 25 decibels above what’s allowed. The mayor also said loud noise continued past 10 p.m.
A stadium spokesperson said in a statement that while there have been no noise complaints for the same event in 2012, the stadium will monitor noise during future events and make adjustments to abide by the law.
