JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — A bridge over the Hackensack River in Jersey City and Kearny is being temporarily closed for repairs.
Transportation officials say the Route 7/Wittpenn Bridge will be closed to traffic beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday until around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The following two weekends, the bridge will be closed beginning at 10:30 p.m. Friday and running through about 5:30 a.m. Monday on both weekends.
Workers are performing structural repairs to ensure the existing Route 7/Wittpenn Bridge remains in service while a new replacement bridge is being built.
Detours will be in effect.
