DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Motorists on the go through Cape May County on the Garden State Parkway now have a place to go.
A new service plaza near Exit 17 in Dennis Township opened on Wednesday in time for the July Fourth holiday.
Motorists had no access to bathrooms, food or gasoline for months when the 60-year-old plaza closed to make way for construction of the new plaza. The nearest rest area was 20 miles to the north.
Peg Stires of Whitehouse Station in Hunterdon County stopped at the plaza on her way to Wildwood. Stires tells The Press of Atlantic City (http://bit.ly/TEWMT9 ) the plaza gives you a chance to get out and stretch your legs.
