NJ teachers back in Atlantic City for convention

11-7-13

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey’s largest teachers union is back in Atlantic City for its annual convention.

The New Jersey Education Association last year canceled the event for the first time in its 158-year history because of Superstorm Sandy.

Thousands of educators will attend more than 300 seminars and workshops during the two-day program.

Parents have complained for years that the union should not hold the convention during the school year, forcing them to either take time off from work or pay for daycare for their children.
