PARSIPPANY, N.J. (AP) — The husband of a woman found dead in her northern New Jersey restaurant last year has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Forty-three-year-old Jiu Zian Zheng of Parsippany was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty earlier this year to manslaughter charges.
The body of 33-year-old Yun Fei Lin was found at the Kazumi Sushi restaurant in Parsippany in October 2012. She had been stabbed.
Zheng was also given a five-year sentence, to run concurrent, after earlier pleading guilty to aggravated assault in connection with an attempted attack on his wife’s business partner.
Authorities have not said what sparked the attacks.
A detainer has been lodged against Zheng, a Chinese national, by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The agency says he is in the U.S. illegally.
